01 — The Dojo

Not a sport. Not a daycare. A way of life.

Kanzen Karate School teaches Kanzen Gōjū-Ryū — traditional karate the way it was meant to be taught, with discipline, respect, and protocol. Students stand in stance, stay focused, and earn every step of their progress.

That seriousness is exactly the point. Real self-defense, genuine confidence, and character that carries into school, work, and the rest of life. Come see the difference for yourself — your first lesson is free.

02 — Students

In their words

★★★★★
“It's a traditional Goju Ryu karate school that teaches you the classic techniques while practicing contact sparring safely. The instructors have been training here for decades and are passionate about every student. I've built strength, stamina, flexibility, memory, and self-discipline here — and it's paid off in every part of my life.”
Tanay Gavankar · Student since 2001
★★★★★
“Kanzen changed the whole direction of my life. I went from a 20-year-old with no direction to a successful attorney running my own law firm for 23 years. At 60, I'm still training — applying the principles of classical karate to everyday life, whether work, family, or friends. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it.”
Keith Leshine · Student since age 20
★★★★★
“The instruction here has literally turned my life around. With the tough-love of Shihan Sheinwald and all the instructors, I have a new lease on life. I hold my head high, with confidence and discipline in every part of my life.”
Scott Shore · Adult student, Marlboro

04 — Mastery

Trained by masters, not marketers

Shihan Donny Sheinwald — 6th-degree black belt, 42 years on the mat — completed a 100-man kumite, sparring one hundred opponents in a row. He is one of only two karateka recorded to have done it.

When you train at Kanzen, you train under instructors with a combined century-plus of experience, carrying the Kanzen Gōjū-Ryū tradition forward.

05 — Heritage

A lineage you can feel

“Teaching traditional martial arts since 1974.”

Kanzen Gōjū-Ryū was built by the late Master Harry Rosenstein, who upheld its traditions for decades. The art he taught traces back to the founders of Gōjū-Ryū.

Today his student, Shihan Donny Sheinwald, carries that tradition forward — the same standards, the same protocol, the same respect for the art. Some things are worth doing exactly as they were meant to be done.
